Cleaning and Polishing

Dental hygiene is essential to the prevention of plaque and related diseases. Our service should be used at least twice a year and depending on the condition of the patient’s teeth possibly four times a year. The result is whiter, healthier teeth with an absence of plaque and disease.
While we understand that most patients brush their teeth twice daily, visiting our hygienists semiannually allows them to provide a professional treatment, reaching between the teeth and into the gums to remove unwanted plaque and treat disease.
A cleaning appointment covers:

  • Removal of the plaque, from between the teeth and under the gums
  • Polishing teeth to remove unwanted discoloration from persistent discoloration
  • Polishing to achieve a smooth tooth surface
  • application of fluoride lacquer, which increases the resistance to acids
